To lead effectively we require dual awareness. To collaborate, openness is essential. In times of stress, space is needed for good work. To access problem solving, there has to be a pause. To understand how to progress, we must self-inspire. To keep learning, confidence to get it wrong is mandatory.
I have spent almost a decade working with a truly exceptional team, as we grew our FinTech from 5 - 350 people. I went from a solo-ops agent, to leading an operation of 100, as COO.
What did I learn? It’s all about the people. How we thought about things, rather than what we knew. How we moved quickly and didn’t obsess over perfection. And how we treated each other, the respect and permission to try new things that created a multi-product, multi-continent, multi-unicorn business.
My most valuable lesson? How to truly invest in people. To offer meaning, joy and value each day. So work can be fulfilling, transformative, expansive and sustainable. So we can be well. And so Ikigai Flow was born, combining my time as founding team/ COO, and yoga teacher.
